No two mugs are exactly alike. Variations in glaze, shape, and finish are part of what makes yours uniquely yours. It’s a daily reminder that craftsmanship, care, and individuality still matter.
Your mug was crafted by John Beaulieu, a skilled potter and the founder of Chuckwalla Ceramics.
John was raised in Southern Massachusetts, where he was first introduced to traditional New England production pottery. After studying art in Boston and mastering the fundamentals of throwing clay, glaze development, and kiln firing, his path eventually led him to Phoenix – where his love for pottery never faded.
In 2021, a gifted kiln reignited that passion. By 2025, Chuckwalla Ceramics was born – named for the desert, its creatures, and the clay that brings each piece to life. Every mug is thrown by hand in the same garage studio John first built decades ago.
